The opposition in Macedonia declared Saturday they demand the resignation of Interior Minister, Gordana Jankulovska, over the Thursday triple murder in Skopje.
According to the Social-Democrat Union, one of those gunned down is Jankulovska’s bodyguard, also having ties with the security services for the country’s Prime Minister. The opposition says it is unacceptable the person in question was in the company of known illegal drug dealers, who also became victims of the crime.

The special police operation codenamed “The Killers” is about to reveal five murder plots, Bulgaria’s Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, announced Saturday.
The murders bear the same signature mark and crime profile, Tsvetanov said, adding there is enough evidence and witness testimony in the case.
The Minister further declared he was confident this time the evidence will be admitted in court, while the three individuals arrested in the sequel of operation “The Killers” are exactly where they belong – behind bars.

A reward of BGN 1 000 for information in the  recent monstrous murder of a 3-month-old puppy in the Bogrov dog shelter near Sofia was posted Saturday by the Four Paws and Animal Rescue Sofia Foundations.
The animal rights activists remind again the more and more frequent cases of animal cruelty in Bulgaria result from the lack of real punishment for the perpetrators.
On August 28, an unknown individual broke in the dog shelter near the village of Gorni Bogrov in the Sofia suburbs and savagely killed 3-month old pup Jessie….

Bulgaria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Nikolay Mladenov, hopes the scandal around the project to build a Formula 1 racetrack near Sofia would not have a negative influence on ties with Arab countries.
“Bulgaria is leading an active policy in the Middle East, and I hope this F1 situation would not reflect on our relations with other Arab countries,” Mladenov said Saturday, pointing out the largest increase in Bulgaria’s exports in the last 6 months has been precisely with the Middle East.
“I hope this situation will be settled very soon,” the Minister said.

The former agent of Bulgaria’s National Agency for State Security, Aleksei Petrov, who was arrested on February 10, during a special police operation codenamed Octopus, had requested again to be freed from jail.
The news was reported Saturday by the Bulgarian news agency BTA citing sources from the Court.
Petrov is charged with a number of crimes, some committed 10 years ago.

Bulgaria suffered a tragic 4:0 loss as guests from England in their first match from the qualifications for Euro 2012.
The English scored their first goal as early as the 3rd minute when the striker of Tottenham Spurs Jermaine Defoe scored own first goal in the match.

Bulgaria has come very close to the construction of its second nuclear power plant in Belene, according to President Georgi Parvanov.
During his visit to the Danube town of Belene for the town holiday, Parvanov said he expected the acceleration of the construction of the troubled Belene Nuclear Power Plant, as cited by BTA.
“There are currently intensive negotiations under way between the partners for the construction of the Belene NPP,” declared Parvanov making it clear he did not doubt the good future of the project.

Bulgaria’s Economy Ministry has declared that the Abu Dhabi company EABG is committed to the plans for building a Formula 1 circuit in the country despite a misunderstanding that led to an international scandal.
Thus, the Ministry has refuted the reports in the Bulgarian media that EABG (Emirates Associated Business Group), a private consortium uniting 67 companies from telecommunications, oil and gas, software and hardware, cargo trade, manufacturing, construction, real estate, declared it had no intention whatsoever to invest in Bulgaria’s potential Formula 1 track.
